Apple introduces the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6

Oct 27, 2026 · · AppDrop News

Apple announced a new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip on October 27, 2026. The laptop targets users who need portable performance for programming, creative production, and everyday professional work.

M6 includes a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU. Apple claims up to 30 percent faster graphics than M5 and up to 25 percent faster performance for selected on-device AI workloads. These are manufacturer benchmarks, not a guarantee of identical gains in every application.

The laptop starts with 16GB of unified memory and can be configured with up to 32GB. Apple quotes up to 24 hours of battery life. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, while the hardware retains its Liquid Retina XDR display, 12MP Center Stage camera, HDMI, MagSafe, SDXC card slot, and Thunderbolt ports.

The M6 chip also combines GPU Neural Accelerators with a redesigned Neural Engine for local AI tasks. Apple highlights potential benefits for image editing, software builds, and local language-model workflows. Actual speed depends on software, configuration, and workload.

Preorders begin October 28, with availability scheduled for November 6. Prices and configurations should be checked in the relevant Apple region. This is a hardware announcement rather than an App Store discount.
